The Rottweiler Performance 'Fueling Dongles' are an effective and simple method to improving the fueling mixture of any fuel injected KTM by allowing the stock ECU to deliver a proper mixture at low to mid RPMs. By replacing the stock narrow band O2 plugs with these simple to install dongles, the Rottweiler Fueling Dongles feed the stock ECU a pre set signal that substantially smooths out the lower end power delivery reducing the jerky transition between the extremely lean low RPM mapping and the open loop upper end mapping. Overall average air fuel ratios also tend to richen up by about .5 to 1 point as well allowing the user an inexpensive option to 'bump up' the richness of their fuel delivery if the cost of a Powercommander is not currently an option for them.
How do they work? It's actually quite simple. The stock ECU is set to lean out the fuel delivery to a very lean 14.7 air fuel ratio (AFR) under 5500 RPM and 20% throttle. Once the engine has reached a sufficient warm up the ECU 'listens' to the stock narrow band O2 sensors and looks for a particular signal to keep the bike in that lean condition. This causes heat issues from extremely hot header pipes, makes the motorcycle jerky at low RPMs and reduces power. The Rottweiler Fueling Dongles send a return signal to the stock ECU that keeps the low end fueling at a much better running 13.8 +/-. A mixture that translates into an overall better running motorcycle.
Note: When running our Rottweiler Fueling Dongles, you have the option to remove your stock O2 sensor from the exhaust header. You may add one below in options.

Honestly, I don't know if I could tell you there is a major difference in anything other than it seems to have a smoother idle when cold. Either way the specs are on paper and for $30, that's good enough for me.

Works exactly as advertised, smooths out that low rpm jerkiness and the bike seems to run a little cooler. Very easy to fit, takes maybe 10 minutes. Recommended.

To be honest I want expecting much out of something that claims to work so well and be so cheep, but I was wrong. This took all of 5 minuets to install and then did the 15 minute idle reset just to be safe and then boom. It's a completely new bike runs so much smoother increased throttle response, i'm more then happy with this product and would highly recommend to anyone!

This thing is miraculous. Took all of 3 minutes to install and the results were instantaneous. Smooths our the low end at take off with no more stumbling or jerkiness. I was a little skeptical but after reading reviews all over the KTM forums I said what the heck. All I can say is that at less than 30 bucks this is the FIRST thing you should purchase. I am very happy with the Fuel Dongle and definitely recommend it to any KTM 690 owner.

It took me 10 minutes to install. Works like a charm.

I've put this in a 2019 Svartpilen 701 that I just got, and it works phenomenally. The bike in stock form is unusable in the 2-5k RPM range. This dongle helps a lot, making any RPM +3k actually useful.
If you've just got this bike, this is the first thing you should do to it.

With 13,000 miles on my ‘17 KTM 690 Enduro R the O2 sensor went bad. I finally decided to get the fuel dongle and plug and it made it so much smoother transitioning off idle. Now those slow sections of single track are much easier. Cheap, easy performance upgrade. DON’T WAIT!

Reasonably priced, easy to install, makes the bike run smoother, Definitely would recommend.

Wasn’t sure this dongle would do anything, as the price was really cheap. Boy was I wrong. My 2019 KTM 690 R displayed all the regular too lean problems associated with this model, jerky off the bottom, gurgling at very low speed in traffic. Figured what the hell, will give the Rottweiler Fuel Dongle a shot. Runs great now! No more popping on deceleration either. This thing works! Will require 5 minutes of your time to install. I highly recommend it

Took longer to get the cover off my bike then to actually install.
Bike runs a lot better and way les jerky now. Great buy for the 701 Husky or 690 KTM

After running up 1500kms on stock 2019 690 Enduro R I found the lower rev range to be a tad erratic
Installed the Fueling Dongle along with the Canister Removal Kit and found a real difference to the smoothness = no more surge and a better balance
Posted by Paul on 27th Sep 2019
Delivery was prompt and installation to less than 5 minutes including tidying up the stock wiring. My 690 Euro R was transformed!! It would buck, surge and generally protest anything less than WOT from 3,000 to 4,000 rpm and roll on was weak. It now pulls hard from 2,000 all the way up at part throttle, and cruises smoothly between 3 and 4 thousand! Remarkable!

Works as advertised. But the check engine light came on from the get go on my 2018 701???? Hope it goes out soon. Postage to Australia is expensive.

I will say that when I opened the package I was a bit sceptical that this little piece of plastic was going to do anything. Happy to say it worked exactly as described. The throttle response is much cleaner at low RPMs and the jerky feeling is completely gone. Worth every penny!

Noticeable improvement at low rpm makes the 690 Duke more tractable.

I purchased a brand new 2019 KTM 690 SMCR late this summer. Within the first weekend riding I noticed unprovoked stalling, and what felt like the need of excessive throttle just to take off from a light. I read up on this fuel dongle and figured, for the price I couldnt argue with th gamble. It took me all of 30 seconds to install it, and not only did it instantly fix my stalling issues. But it smoothed out the bottom end and my throttle felt just a little crisper. No more stalling, and the bottom end feels so much nicer when taking off from a dead stop. Totally worth getting even for a bone stock bike.

Noticeably smoother in lower revs. Easy to install. Worth it for the cost.
Posted by michael kilawee on 19th Aug 2019
The fueling dongle did exactly what it was supposed to do.
The low end on my 2018 KTM 690 Duke is silky-smooth now, and runs perfectly through the entire RPM range.
It’s now possible to ride highways at 65 MPH in 6th gear without feeling like my teeth are going to fall out.
The folks at Rottweiler are a pleasure to deal with. You can tell they’re true enthusiasts, in addition to being great at the business they’re running.
I look forward to making more purchases from them!

Installed this on a 2019 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto. Prior owner had already swapped out the stock exhaust for Wings. This dongle definitely smooths out the fueling at low RPMs. Not an enormous difference, but previously it was a bit rough - due to the lean fueling. Almost like it was on the edge of stalling as you would take off from a dead stop. Now it’s a bit richer, with a smoother fueling, that leads to a smoother launch. I don’t know that I notice any improvement in power/HP/torque - MAYBE a 5% improvement in that area at low revs. Or maybe that’s just the placebo effect. But when it comes to the smoothness of the fueling at lower RPMs, there is a nice improvement. Definitely well worth the small investment - at least when paired with the Wings exhaust. Can’t speak to using it with the stock can, as I never tried that. And I can’t compare it with dongle and Wings vs. no dongle and stock can, as the exhaust can was upgraded by prior owner.

The bike was choppy on the bottom end up to about 3500 rpm before. After installing this it made a big change in bottom end power and how smooth it runs. Definitely very happy

Installed on 690 R 2015. Huge difference in low end power. Really nice.

Ok, being "new" to the KTM 690 Enduro from my beloved carb'd '02 LC4 and '08 450EXC, I was a little intimidated by the FI and fueling stories all over the WWW. My '11 Husky TE was easy to adjust fueling via the free Mikuni software. Not so easy on the 690. Down load and install various homemade programs from who knows who? No way! I spend weeks in remote desert areas of CA and NV on jobs and I can't even fathom a failure on risky programming. This Dongle was exactly what I was looking for and it performs magically. I am running the TwinAir filter (from these guys) and an Arrow slip-on with spark arrestor (also from these guys) and the bike runs amazing. No stalling in high heat/high elevation scenarios, smooth predicable power and great fuel econ (45-52ish so-far) with a variety of riding from slow single track, 55mph desert roads, to 75-80mph slab for 100+miles. Highly recommend this quick and easy upgrade/addition.

The dongle works as advertised . The bung plug is nearly worthless because the hex socket is very hard to access without removal of bike parts, a simple 10 or 12 mm bolt head would be much easier to use. Overall only mildly disappointing.

Dongle works as advertised improving fueling on stock bike below 5000 rpm. The result is less surging between 3500 and 5000 rpm. 6th gear is now useable at legal hwy speeds.

Installed on a 2017 with 1500 miles on it. Wings pipe upgrade with stock air filter. After the Wings pipe I had a couple of stalls and some misfires when cold. Installed this, removed the O2 sensor and plugged it. Also did a 15 minute idle reset. Now it runs much better. I also noticed better low RPM throttle response. Factory setting is to lean. This helped rich it up. A must for any aftermarket pipe.

The only material difference I observed was eliminating the twitchy on/off throttle response when at idle. That difference alone made it worth the small cost. It may have made the low end feel slightly smoother as a whole but to me felt somewhat negligible. I had hoped that this would waken up the low end power - it definitely did not, but it is a very cheap way to remove low end twitchy throttle.

I'm running a stock 2016 701e with a K&N filter and stock exhaust. It's a subtle difference with this fueling dongle, but it smoothened out the low-to-mid range nicely. Get the 02 sensor plug, it's the smaller 12mm variety which are hard to find.
Posted by email@example.com on 18th Feb 2019
For the price, you get a little more power on the lower end which is really nice. Very easy to install and worth the price!

Having traced the cable back to behind the rad and under the airbox, this job, if it ever gets done, is going to have to wait for another time.

I have a 2018 701 with currently fitted with a Wings slip on and spark arrestor in. While the bike runs fine, i'm a little concerned about running too lean on the closed loop low RPM default map. The fuel dongle was installed more of a safety measure than any type of 'performance' gain. Since I don't have the ability to measure AFR, i'll just trust Rottweilers graph. One note, on the 2018 bikes, the closed loop map seems to be really smooth right off the bat. I did not notice any on/off throttle inconsistencies or lack of fuel. The dongle was installed just as a piece of mind. My bike will be fitted with a PCV and open airbox at a later date.

This is definitely worth adding if you cant do the power commander right away.
Huge difference in low end power, and just smoother off idle.
Top end power improvement is also noticable
Posted by cliff on 23rd Apr 2018
Put this on with an Arrow slip on. All I can say is that this 701 is a real beast now. Pulls way harder and smoother. Like a different bike. A must have if you add a slip on.

Smooth!!!!! no stalls in cold conditions anymore.Smooth in low rpm and not too much fuelconsumption.
Awsome for such a low priced Item.

Talked to Dave about my 17 ktm 690 enduro with a wings exhaust not starting well in the cold ,he recommended the fueling dongle and was very informative so I ordered one . I plugged it in and just like that my bike starts perfect now and feels like it's running a lot smoother. Definitely worth it and Dave was great to deal with can't recommend them enough.

I have done about 1500 km's with the fueling dongle installed. IMO, the bike runs smoother at low rpm's with less on/off throttle feeling. Well spent money!
Posted by Doug on 22nd Aug 2017
I got this to go with the Rottweiler Intake system and Arrow silencer since I couldn't afford to get the power commander as well at the same time.
The install was super easy, done in less than 10 minutes.
I was amazed at the change in performance, especially from idle to 5K, wow...
Highly recommended mod to a 690r

After being plagued by the 690 twitchy throttle for years this was a great solution that was easy to install. Be sure to get the O2 plug so you can remove the "lambda sensor" entirely. Damn you California.

Dave at Rottweiler performance recommended this after I ordered my arrow pipe. Glad I talked to him my ktm runs great now way cooler than stock and even more power
Posted by Tom Carlson on 30th Jun 2017
It really does work as described! My 2017 Enduro R now runs much more smoothly at low rpms, and at least two bars coolers on the temp gauge. Riding around town on a humid day, with temps over 80, the cooling fan only came on once. And that was only after I'd been waiting at a red light for awhile. I did install the Rottweiler intake and the canister dongle at the same time, but I can't see those affecting engine temperature.
