Notes, suggestions and precautions:
1. These do not come pre oiled for shipping purposes. We reccomend No Toil Oiling kits for both our intake filters and pre filters.
2. It is recommended (but not entirely necessary) that the SAS system be removed when installing a Rottweiler Intake System. See our SAS Stage Kits for options. If you skip the SAS removal options you will need to install a small filter where the SAS used to pull clean air from the stock airbox. These small filters are commonly available here. See the SAS Stage kits for reasons and explanations of what they do.
3. Only the 'Stage 1' kit requires trimming the rear velocity stack by 20 millimeters. While this works quite well for power and use, our Stage 2 option includes a more optimal TVS-80-54 billet velocity stack which is a 'Tuned' bell-mouth replacement. This would be considered by tuning engineers as a more 'proper' setup for maximizing air flow and power outputs. These can also be purchased separately if the user prefers to tune with velocity stack lengths front and rear. You will NOT lose torque with these stacks. See dyno chart.
4. Installation of the Rottweiler Intake System on an Adventure 1190 / Super Adventure test bike has been tested to stay within very safe air fuel ratios with completely stock mapping at sea level. Air Fuel Ratios (AFRs) tested averaged out around 13.5 consistently with no mapping added. That being said, we can in no way guarantee that every motorcycle will perform the same way although it is very likely. We would suggest the use of our 'Rottweiler Fueling Dongles' to bump up your low end air fuel ratios by .5 to 1 point. Your stock ECU (on every KTM twin) uses 2 different maps to pass EPA standards. What this means it that below 5000 RPM and 20% throttle, your ECU is in what is called 'Closed Loop' mode which causes it to 'listen' to the stock narrow band O2s and other measuring devices and keep the low end as close to 14.7 AFR as possible. This is what causes the surging and 'jerkiness' of most 990's. The Rottweiler Fueling Dongles send a preset signal back to the stock ECU that causes it to send fuel closer to 13.8 AFR in closed loop mode which is much closer in transition to the rest of the mapping above that. We have found that your average AFRs stay .5 to 1 full point lower with these dongles. If you plan on purchasing a Powercommander unit to maximize the result of your Rottweiler Intake System, it comes with these dongles and you will not need to purchase them separately. If you do not want a Powercommander at this time, the Rottweiler Fueling Dongles are a great way to smooth out power deliver and they are plug and play.
We know staring at all of those pieces of plastic and bolts can leave some KTM Adventure 1190/1290 owners scratching their heads but fear not!, Rottweiler Performance is here to help in this short but very informative 'How To' video.

finally fitted filter and sas removal . two words BLOODY HELL!! awesome midrange improvement and of idle pulls like a large rhino on steroids. youve got a great product a bit pricey this side of the pond but thats our rubbish £.

USPS delivery was very quick, however our customs are legendarily slow so finally i have your excellent bit of performance porn.velocity stack very well machined and all of it a quality product . oh and well packed JASON !! my mate attests to the performance effects so will find out when fitted.

should have done this a year ago on my '15 1190 Adv R. did the stage 2 kit in combo with SAS/Canister and Fuel Dongle kits. installation was straight forward. cleaned up the 'innards' to the way i liked. throttle response is so much smoother. the motor used to hesitate when throttle applied so I would get a little surge after a pause.
only 'con' was that i think there should be a bottle of the filter oil spray included (held up my install until i got some).

This Product in the stage 5 unlocks the big twin. It smooths out the jerkyness when just cruising around. It isn't hard to fit as long as you follow the instructions and the wiring loom fits nice into the bike.It make a big differance when you open up the big girl just hang on. It lights up the rear tyre easy , which caught me by supprise.Thanks Chris and the team

This is a no fuss air system . Why didn't KTM do this system as standard? Easy to fit and it will be easy to clean. I got this as a stage 5 kit.

I have done air box updates before on all of my 4-strokes but man this kit was by far the best overall improvement ever. I now can lug the bike down just putting through town or down the trail. Before it was never happy around 2500 rpms but now no problem. Then hit the throttle and the response is right there screams to red line. In fact on the street the traction control has never activated in 3rd gear but it does now!!! I did install the fuel plugs to deactivate the 02 sensors as well. I don't need a dyno to say this kit kicks ass-

A very well made product that exceeded my expectations. Save the money on an Akro muffler (that's overpriced) and get this kit. The gains are amazing and the bike is so smooth and powerful now. Like it should have been.

I read on all of the KTM forums that this was the 'thing to do' but had my doubts. Boy was I wrong. The bike is so much better now. KTM should have hired these guys a long time ago.

Best mod I've purchased thus far. Forget anything else. Very happy with the results it had on my 1190 R. The oiling process is a little different as the foam is bonded to the frame but once I read the instructions it was a snap.

I always thought the 1190 adventure I have has enough power for the street. I also thought that the fuel delivery was too refined and not quite as thrilling as the older KTMs I've owned. I don't know if this mod have given the more power as I haven't dyno'ed it but I do know the power delivery is now amazing. Power in all revs, thiird gear power wheelies all day long, less radiating heat, and a big ass grin on my face.
I went with the stage 3 and a pipe. It was expensive but much cheaper than buying another bike. This bike is truly an all arounder now, whereas before I thought I might need street fighter to get my rush for power.

I do this to all KTMS (My fourth) inckuding my new 1190 Adventure. Huge. Midrange grunt increase and ability to run it in 3rd down to 2000 RPMS--then just whack it and motor off! Plus, Chris has actually answered his cell on a weekend to walk me through questions I had!

The first time I twisted the throttle after the install I was shocked. The thing sounds mean as hell when you give it a handfull of throttle. I love it. It's probably going to end up costing me a lot in tickets tho cuz I can't keep my wrist out of it now. It still sounds pretty much stock at an idle, then gets a mean growl at about half throttle, then sounds like the God of thunder when you give it full throttle. The power delivery is much smother and it pulls a lot harder of the line and thru the low rpms. I called my buddy after my first ride and told him he has to get it for his 1190 adv R. The thing is really easy to power wheelie now too. I love it. Money well spent.

Tried the unifilter fix. Was still getting debris in my filter box. Thought this one is a little pricey, but it is quality built and now I know I don't have to worry about dirt entering my engine.
The noise on full throttle opening is fairly loud. But with all this power I'm not full throttle most of the time. All in all, a great product.

If nothing else this intake makes you want to just full throttle all the time. I love the safety it provides my engine, the look is awesome and the power is amazing! Mine does not sound too loud even when paired with the Akrapovic exhaust. If you remove your baffles it may get annoying as its too loud but it's just nice pure fun with them still in. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I should have done this months ago! No way that dust is getting in anymore! Chris and Mariel are great people, and had great communication during a backorder that held up shipment for a week. This is an expensive kit, but there is nothing like it on the market. The sound is great, and it make the 1190 more responsive and and lively.

Just put this filter set up on my 1190s, as well as, two velocity stacks, the fuel dongles, and the stage 3 SAS removal.
Like the other reviews say, this really transformed the bike.
The throttle response off of idle no longer has that EFI lean surge, and the engine really pulls better in the upper rpm range (butt dyno approved).
There is more intake noise, but that is a good thing as it is a sweet sound for sure,
All of the kits were complete and of a high quality, like my title says....money well spent.

Just installed the stage 3 intake, Charcoal canister removal kit and Fueling dongles. First let me say it was awesome getting rid of an entire box of useless parts!!
My first ride, I worried about warning lights, but nothing! The new found power was awesome! Smooth throttle response and no sputter on deccel coupled with weight loss makes these upgrades a MUST for KTM Adventure bike owners!

The stock 1290SA is very well fuelled, but after adding a BOS desert fox muffler I got the usual popping.
I thought if I'm going to do anything about it I may as well address the whole system, so I added the fantastic Rottweiler intake and velocity stacks, a power commander V, dual auto tune, SAS removal, and the Arrow headers with the cat (I'm in Europe where they can sometimes check theses things).
It went together well, and the beast growled at me as soon as I hit the starter.
The power map maximises the value of the improved air flow from the intake system, and set me up really well to start the auto tune (which I haven't needed to use yet).
The manufacturing quality and industrial design of the intake baseplate, and the tuned velocity stacks, is exceptional- vastly superior to the OEM.
This is a unique performance mod, in that it gives you not only the improved performance you're after, but also the peace of mind that your bike is actually better off with it.
Most impressive is the after sales help provided by Chris. I had a few oddball questions that he graciously answered quickly, clearly and concisely. It's no overstatement to say that in my 35 years of motorcycling I haven't had better after sales service.

WOW! Just installed the Rottweiler 4.2 intake system on my 2014 KTM Adventure R and only one thing was missing. A disclaimer that says THIS WILL SCARE GROWN MEN! What an AMAZING set up! Chris has done an amazing job on this set up! Everything you could imagine and more !! The sound of the CF Yosh is PERFECT. The build quality of the intake is top notch. The install is very easy. Chris was able to set up the power commander for me so it was plug and play. I would HIGHLY recommend Chris and Rottweiler Performance to anyone with a KTM.

Excellent quality, and straight up 10+ hp gain.
1190 Adventure went from 121 rwhp with a uni filter, to 133 rwhp. What the dyno sheets don't show is the ride difference, now pulls strong and hard from anywhere in the rev range and yes it does drop the under seat heat.
Also had the precleaner on during dyno run.
one thing Id like to add was how impressed I was with the delivery and service to an overseas customer. I have heard horror stories from other people who have bought things online,(not limited to bike stuff), and either had items not turn up or have components broken or missing. Being from Australia generally means we are too far away to worry about. The Items I purchased were packed so as nothing was damaged, everything I purchased was there and the quality of their products is top shelf. There was no issue with the fitting of any of the items I bought and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thanks Rottweiler Performance

Wow what difference in power and third gear power wheelies are easier and in your face!!! I do recommend that you purchase the extra velocity stack to match the kit. Extra 2hp on bottom end and 6 hp on top end. Very easy to install and the quality is A+++. Now I just need a power commander and upgrade the steering stabilizer that is crap on this bike. The Front end wiggles like hell due to the torque and the steering shock is just crap. ROTTWEILER I'm going for the extra 15 hp stage so stay tunned. Please develop a nice looking wind screen.

I initially called the shop for advice and Chris could not have been more helpful. The intake is well designed, well made and straightforward to install. I initially fitted the Uni-Filter system which kept the dust out but resulted in a significant power loss. After fitting the Rottweiler system, the HP gains, even over stock, are incredible. Just finished installation of SAS removal and stage III intake. Unbelievable improvement in roll on power many more traction control warnings, great product. By far the best power game for money spent Was skeptical of other reviews, but it does reduce under seat heat as well .

Bought my Stage 2 after blowing up my 1190R motor after sucking in too much dirt with the stock KTM airbox (fixed under warranty). I ride a lot of dirt and needed better filter than the fix KTM provided. Now I feel confident that I won't be sucking dirt into the the motor. With the fueling dongles and emissions kit installed the bike runs and sounds like a new machine. Thanks for the fix.

I have a stage 3 and it makes my bike to be like it should have been at the first place, awesome thurst from below 3000rpm until blasting from 6000rpm and what a sound :-)
Filtration was also my first target but this power increase is really nice side effect !

I replaced my Uni filter with the stage 4 kit. Very straight forward and easy to install. Chris loaded his map into the PCV before it was shipped out. A total plug and play system. The performance I got was awesome. Customer service was beyond my expectations, the time was taken to answer my questions and I felt like I was talking to a friend not a business owner.

I purchased the stage 3 kit for my 1190. The main reason was for better filtration but the increased power and smooth delivery was shocking. It also has a pretty throaty growl from the intake - not annoying - just right.
