See MOTORCYCLE.com review of the Transaver.
The TRANSAVER is a unique new device that can dramatically decrease or eliminate completely accidental damage from aggressive downshifts to your sensitive and complicated internal shifting mechanisms.
The KTM LC8c 790/890 engine is an amazingly small and well-engineered engine, but the downside to such engineering and lightweight can be easily bent or damaged shift components. One ill-placed or hard downshift can bend any number of items in this system quite easily.
The TRANSAVER is a unique and simple device that has identical feel in both up and downshifting when regular down pressure is applied, but when over-stressed has the ability to compress the gas strut momentarily in order to save the delicate parts moving around in your transmission.
The TRANSAVER has been race tested in the most rugged of conditions and the riders stated after the race that they completely forgot the unit was even installed and that everything felt like normal unless a hard shift took place. Basically no downsides or trade-offs with only added insurance that your investment's expensive parts are safe. A win/win.
Protect your delicate transmission with the Rottweiler Performance TRANSAVER.
NOTE: with he TRANSAVER on the 790/890 Adventure model you can no longer 'fine-tune' your shifter's vertical location via the shift rod due to the short length of the shift rod on this model. With the TRANSAVER, shift locations are now determined by the spline on the lever attached to the engine's shift shaft similar to adjusting a shift lever height on a standard dirt bike. See the diagram located in the images on this page or when the disclaimer option below is clicked to see the available positions when using this device. You will find that they are still quite standard.

Looks like it will hold up better. Shifting action does not have any noticeable change in feel.

I’ve had no issues with this. Except that it won’t let me break parts. I don’t even notice it until it’s working. And I’m pretty sure when it’s working, I’m unintentionally trying to smash it into gear, usually 1st, and it says: relax brother.. you don’t want to create problems for yourself out here. The walk is long, and the solution is expensive.. take a breath and try again. Upon which I thank it and ride into the sunset.

Easy install and seems to be a quality piece. With the rough terrain this bike will be on, this is a nice little bit of insurance that could save me big time down the road.

It's a brilliant product. Offroad I shift pretty hard. This allows overtravel when downshifting for those sketchy situations where you're really stabbing at the lever. I'm far less likely to break things now.

Very happy with the product super easy installation all I did was mark the original position of the gearshaft and adjusted the spline on the gearbox to suit. You don't even notice it's there until you accidentally leave your big hoof on the gear lever and hit a bump. Such a great innovation nice 1 Rottweiler. Cheers Tony

Such a great innovation nice 1 Rottweiler crew oh the sticker was upside down which makes it a little confusing but I sorted it the big end goes towards the gear lever. Cheers Tony
